dāl is exclusively developed in our own neighborhood of Downtown LA, where we have worked to create authentic partnerships with our city's fellow artisans. We work most deeply in collaboration with our CFDA third-party partner, The Evans Group (TEG), which utilizes in-house seamstresses and pattern makers to ensure that every piece is tailored to perfection.
How do you ensure labor practices are fair?
Working with small, LA-based factories allows us to remain hands-on in the manufacturing process. We do not believe in bulk orders and work only in minimum quantities to avoid mass production and waste.
Where is dāl's fabric sourced? How do you choose your materials?
We source locally from Los Angeles, prioritizing mills that omit synthetic materials, and deliberately selecting only the top-quality fabrics and mechanisms to ensure a tailor-made quality and the longevity of each garment.
Are dāl fabrics vegan?
dāl fabrics include 100% Tencel, Organic Cotton, and Linen and are exclusively free from nylon, polyester, and plastics.
How do you fit your garments?
Fit rests at the core of dāl. Our garments and samples are revised time over time, testing them consistently until our piece is proven ready for production.
How often do you develop new pieces?
A new limited capsule collection will be released every few months featuring updated design staples for the modern woman's daily wardrobe.
