Capsule ii – dāl the label

capsule II

shop collection

Quietly elevated, dāl's new second capsule collection is infused with the beauty and serenity of nature, offering core silhouettes further refined by thoughtful details, and introducing new shapes in updated fabrications.

The collection was inspired by LA’s natural landscape and iconic light, and aptly shot at the Banta House, the hillside mid-century modern  residence of famed architect Richard Banta. Perched above the Sunset Strip, the house is graced by stunning views of the city and canyons, something that felt familiar to dāl’s founder Dana Mortada, the lush Santa Monica mountains set against the urban backdrop reminiscent of her native Lebanon.

Echoes of the collection can be found in the setting: clean, architectural lines meet the softness of the surrounding hills, muted hues are complemented by warm wood accents. Similarly, oversized tailored silhouettes are juxtaposed by soft garments; faded tones of grey and taupe set against earth shades of camel brown, black and olive.

The collection was crafted in Los Angeles in small ateliers, with a focus on sustainable materials and finishings - experimenting with cotton and wool blends, Tencel, Recycled Polyester, and Micro Modal, pushing the limits of each fabric to create elevated garments with ease of wear.

Setting themselves above the noise of fast-consumption, dāl the label’s slow approach to fashion infuses the ritual of getting dressed with focused calm, offering an intentional wardrobe of refined simplicity.
