It’s been a little while since we’ve truly caught up.
How are you? How are you feeling as we move through the warm haze of High Summer?

I’ve always found this such an interesting season. Everything growing, shifting, becoming. And that sense of possibility never fails to invigorate me. At Dāl, it’s been a season of growth in so many exciting ways, and I’m so happy to finally share a little of what we’ve been quietly working on with you.

If you’ve been part of our community for a while, you might have noticed things becoming a little quieter on our end. An intentional pause on social media. A step away from our usual rhythm of seasonal capsules.

In truth, we needed the space. Things were changing, both within and beyond our control, and over time it became clear that the path we were on was one we could no longer, and no longer wanted to, follow.

Our mission remained. But the vision began to shift, evolve and grow, as things so often have a way of doing. And we wanted to give ourselves the time to understand what that meant for Dāl, and to chart the course for what came next.

Within that quiet came a new, more aligned direction. A clearing of the old to make space for what was taking shape. One permanent collection, designed to become part of the daily ritual of getting dressed. A collection we came to know intuitively as The Core.

It saw us expand our supplier horizons, reaching beyond our LA shores to source quality imported fabrics from ethical suppliers.
As our vision for Dāl evolved, we knew the way we made our clothes needed to evolve with it. The people, places and materials behind each piece had to reflect that intention. And still, at the heart of it all, are the caring, artisanal hands in Los Angeles who continue to bring our pieces to life.

It feels as though there’s so much on the horizon. Even an accompanying fragrance for the Core, a first for Dāl, and one I can’t wait to share more about. My team and I have spent months bringing this vision to life.
And this August, it leaves our hands and enters your rituals.
