into the heart of Capsule IV
Following the introduction of our latest Capsule IV, today we pause for musings with its visionary creator—our founder, Dana Mortada. Few know this collection as intimately as she does, and upon offering it to the dāl community, we invite her to share a selection of thoughtful, personal insights.
We also revisit some cherished moments from our Capsule IV celebration—a night filled with beauty, warmth, and timeless style, honoring our roots and embracing where we are now. Hosted in the hills of Los Angeles, the evening featured authentic home-style dishes by Slutty Cooking, florals by Aris Floral, and Nomadica wine. A heartfelt thank you to Nora Agency and everyone who made this celebration so special.

Capsule IV marks a new chapter for dāl. It blends where I’ve come from and where we’re going, bringing together resilience, beauty, and community in each piece.
How has your Lebanese heritage influenced this collection?
My Lebanese heritage is woven into every detail. The colors, textures, and craftsmanship evoke memories of Beirut and the artistry I grew up with.

The Tencel Tapered Pants and the Cropped Button-Down are my go-to pieces. They’re incredibly versatile and serve as timeless essentials for any wardrobe.
How have dāl’s ethical and sustainable efforts grown with this latest drop?
We’re continually introducing clean fabrics, and finding suppliers who share our values remains a priority and challenge that we’re always working to tackle.
